Marketing is an art because creativity will help one person produce better results when two equally skilled marketers are both provided with the same marketing data.

Testing, tracking, measuring, and proven principles give us the science which helps to improve performance, and overall results with consistency.

The Internet Gold Miner - An internet gold miner is someone whose primary motivation for engaging in internet marketing is for the promised riches. Just as one in five Americans made their way to California during the gold rush, people all over the world, are staking claims on the internet in search of riches. And just as the gold rush prospectors were not really interested in the gold itself, but rather the wealth it could bring them, most internet marketers have no real interest in marketing. Internet Marketing is (for the most part) a faceless business.  This fact has left the door wide open for those who choose to stretch the boundaries of honest business practices.

In light of all the shady dealings, properly establishing trust with prospects has become more important than ever before.

However, not all bad examples of internet marketing come from those looking to make a fast buck without providing real value.  Most “internet marketers” are not marketers at all. Just as wielding a hammer does not make you a skilled carpenter, putting up a web page and creating an ad campaign does not make you a marketer.
